A recap of our conference “Moving from Grievance to Hope”

On a crisp February morning, ICP hosted a timely and impactful conference on applied psychoanalysis, led by Johanna Dobrich, LCSW entitled Moving from Grievance to Hope. Three distinguished educator-clinicians shared compelling case illustrations of their work with marginalized, disenfranchised, and traumatized communities across the globe. Attendees were given a rare opportunity to hear firsthand how psychoanalytic interventions can be effectively applied to social contexts in urgent need of psychological first aid. This session offered valuable insights into the transformative potential of psychoanalysis in addressing some of the most pressing challenges in our world today.

Thank you to our esteemed speakers for joining: Charles Sommer (sharing Dr. Gerard Fromm’s paper), Dr. Nina Cerfolio, and Dr. Billie Pivnick

Your expertise and dedication to this critical work continue to inspire and deepen our understanding of psychoanalysis in action.
