Trauma Studies Center Treatment Services

For information regarding our Trauma Studies Center, please visit www.traumastudiescenter.org.

About TSC: In the aftermath of 9/11, clinicians at the Institute for Contemporary Psychotherapy with an interest in trauma came together to learn more about catastrophic life events.  These clinicians eventually founded the Trauma Studies Center, which provides psychotherapy for trauma survivors.  Our clinicians are trained in multiple modalities of trauma treatment, including EMDR, Internal Family Systems, and Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, among others.  The treatment staff includes social workers and psychologists, all of whom are specially trained in the treatment of trauma.

Treatment: The Trauma Studies Center provides treatment for trauma survivors under the auspices of the ICP Clinic. Fees are on a sliding scale based on income. Full-time students may qualify for lower fees. The Clinic participates in the following insurance plans: HIP, HIP-Medicaid, and Chickering. The Clinic is open from 7:30am—10:15pm, Monday-Friday, and 9:00am—3:00pm on Saturday.

Our intake staff is responsive to the need for early initial consultations. Initial interviews are scheduled within two to three days after you have contacted the Institute. At an initial interview, you and an intake worker will discuss selection of a therapist, treatment planning, referrals and fees, which are determined by a sliding scale based on income.  Our clinicians appreciate the role of cultural differences in mental health treatment and we strive to cultivate a culturally sensitive treatment atmosphere.

If you would like to set up an appointment or would like further information, call ICP at: (212) 333-3444.
