About ATS: The Adult Treatment Service, a division of the Institute for Contemporary Psychotherapy, is an association of psychoanalytically trained professionals dedicated to providing a full range of psychotherapeutic services at moderate cost. We offer individual psychotherapy (1-2 times a week), intensive analytic therapy (3-5 times a week), psychodiagnostic evaluation and consultation as well as a special program for full-time college or graduate students.
Treatment: Therapy can help with a wide range of issues including anxiety, stress, panic attacks, depression, apathy, uncontrollable rage, inability to experience pleasure, guilt and shame, excessive use of drugs or alcohol, sexual, physical or emotional abuse, low self-esteem, chronic feelings of emptiness, and persistent unhappiness.
Our intake staff is responsive to the need for early initial consultations. Initial interviews are scheduled within two to three days after you have contacted the Institute. At an initial interview, you and an intake worker will discuss selection of a therapist, treatment planning, referrals and fees, which are determined by a sliding scale based on income. The sliding fee scales start at $30 per session. Full-time students may qualify for fees starting at $20 per session.
