About gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender treatment services:   ICP provides affirmative psychotherapy treatment services to lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) individuals. We believe that homosexuality is a normal variation in human sexuality and that not all the difficulties one encounters are related to sexual orientation or gender identity. Our therapists and intake staff are sensitive to the social stigma and homophobia that permeate our society and often complicate life. We strive to create a supportive atmosphere within our mainstream mental health facility, where confidentiality is assured.

Treatment:  Individuals often confront unique emotional issues that can be addressed and explored through psychotherapy. Our highly trained and experienced therapists can assist you in navigating life's challenges, focusing on issues such as coming out, coping with depression, dealing with your birth family, creating your own family, living with HIV/AIDS, and confronting discrimination.

Our first priority is to treat each patient's needs in a manner that enhances dignity and self-respect. Our intake staff is committed to responding to your need for early consultation. Initial interviews are scheduled within two or three days after you contact the Institute. Treatment generally begins one or two weeks later.  Further evaluative procedures are available when indicated.

ICP offers a variety of services such as: Adult Treatment (individual/group), Family and Couples Treatment, Older Adults Treatment Services, Child and Adolescent Treatment Services, and Treatment Services for Artists. Considerable attention is given to both the development of a treatment plan and to the suitability of a therapist for a particular patient. Fees are determined on a sliding scale based on income.
